Judges 21

Journaling through the book of Judges has been a good process for me. More books of the Bible will come.

In chapter 21, we find that the tribe of Benjamin's men have been destroyed and their family line will end unless God redeems the situation. As we read this chapter and ponder our own life, we ought to be reminded that God often uses other humans to facilitate his redemption. As believers, we need to place a high value in trusting other people. We also ought to offer trust generously. If Jesus no offers trust and redemption based on what we did with it, all of us would probably lose it.

Look for a person that is able to help you press forward in your walk with Jesus Christ and generously offer the necessarily trust required to push you away from doing "what is right in your own eyes" and push you into doing "what is right in God's eyes."

One of my big takeaways from Judges - If I do not carefully press into what God is doing in my life, I will default into my own false standard of right and wrong. All of us are capable beyond our imagine of falling into the traps that we have read throughout the book of Judges.

I pray this was a healthy journey for your spiritual development. Next, the book of John. Together, we can deepen our belief in Jesus Christ as we press forward into God's mission together.
